30 exciting days through the country of Vikings and fjords

    
     
 
Day 1/ Departure USA June 1st, 2009    
Overnight flight to Hamburg(Germany) - not included -    
Day 2/Arrival Hamburg, Germany June 2nd    
After your arrival in Hamburg we meet you at the airport. Transfer to your comfortable hotel. Welcome dinner.    
     
Day 3    
Breakfast buffet, transfer to the rental company where you get your fully equipped motorhome. After motorhome orientation we stock up on our groceries in a supermarket. In the afternoon our European motorhome tour takes us for a drive on the Autobahn to our campground close to the little German town of Schleswig and ancient Viking excavations.  
     
Day 4    
Drive to the fairy tale island of Funen (Denmark) Hans Christian Andersen called this island "a lovely garden". On our sightseeing tour we'll visit the old town of Odense and his house.
 
 
     
Day 5 / Odense to Roskilde    
In the morning we drive a short distance to Moated Castle Egeskov, one of the best preserved Renaissance castles, located in a beautiful park with the world's largest labyrinth. The castle tour also includes a vintage motorcycle and car museum. After that we cross the world's largest suspension bridge on our way to our campground close to Roskilde one of the oldest towns in Denmark.
   
 
   
 
 
     
Day 6 / Roskilde    
This morning we visit the Dome (cathedral) of Roskilde with the magnificent sarcophaguses of 38 kings and queens. After hosted lunch in one of the typical restaurants we visit the "Vikingeskibshallen" where the five Viking ships are shown which were found in the Roskilde Fjord. You may imagine life in the times of the Vikings when we cruise the Fjord on a Viking Ship replica. 
 
 
     
Day 7 / Roskilde to Copenhagen    
This morning we arrive in wonderful Copenhagen - Denmark's fun-loving capital! We leave our rental motorhomes on the campground where our bus pick us up for our guided sightseeing tour. We not only see the Amalienborg Palace, home of the Danish monarchy but also the statue of the Little Mermaid watching the habor. In the evening we enjoy the bright lights and animation of world famous Tivoli Gardens.
